Amy Gies, CPRW
After 15 years writing resumes, biographies, and profiles for candidates in hundreds of industries, then launching a national resume services division for a startup in San Francisco, Amy saw a need in the market that wasn’t being met by existing companies. In 2013, she decided to part ways with the SF startup after the CEO wanted to do away with talking to clients first before writing happens and just write from existing documents the client already had. This wasn’t good enough. First, people open up much more in conversation and asking the right questions allows for much more value-adding data to be shared and then delivered in a newly optimized document. Second, people are always saying “get me the interview and I can sell myself” – so it’s the writing they are looking for expert help with. Amy wanted to deliver a client-focused service going a little outside the norm of the industry. So, Capstone Resume Services was created and launched in May 2013 to provide that next level service by scheduling a resume consultation first before any transaction occurs so the client understands who will be writing the resume and what the certified resume writer plans to do to optimize their documents for today’s job market.
With writing, recruiting and coaching experience across hundreds of industries for more than 7,000 clients worldwide, she has gained intuitive insight into developing optimal presentations in the ever-evolving job market. She is also a current member of the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches (parw.com) where she obtained her Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) designation. She also possesses a bachelor's degree in written and technical communication and has professional writing experience with companies such as Pfizer and Thomson Petersonemail@example.com
